I’m so, so sorry to hear, Joyce. The SSDI isn’t getting updated all the frequently now, so it may be a while – and maybe that’s a good thing?

Thanks Megan for the very interesting article. My own mom passed away less than a month ago and am wondering how fast the SSDI is updated but it still hurts to much to find out. My mom only worked outside the home a very short time in her life when she was a teenager. She went by a last name that she wasn’t born with and wasn’t married at the time like most women are when they have a card.

I hope that your mother is laughing at all the screw ups. I am very sorry for your loss. I hope this is a good lesson for all who use SSDI.
