Greetings Fellow Family History Sleuths,
Traditionally, August is a sleepy time, but we’ve got the excitement of Who Do You Think You Are? each Tuesday evening on TLC to carry us through. Speaking frankly, I could do without the Honey Boo Boo ads, but otherwise, I’m loving it. Hope y’all are, too! If you need a fix between episodes, though, be sure to check out the video below about Alex Haley’s Scottish roots.
I’m counting down the days to next month’s Legacy Family Tree cruise and will be speaking in Pensacola, Florida in November, but am otherwise taking my first breather from the road in a dozen years! It won’t be permanent as I’m determined to eventually complete this map by speaking in all 50 states (39 so far!), but I’m looking forward to tending to some long-neglected projects. Who knows? I might even get to research my own roots one of these days! Here’s hoping you have plenty of time to peek into your past as summer winds down!

OK, I'm biased because I'm fortunate enough to count Marian Pierre-Louis and Andrew Carroll among my friends, but I highly recommend giving this interview a listen -- and while you're at it, be sure to snag yourself a copy of Here Is Where. You'll love this book!
