I am the great granddaughter of Ruth Wheeler Applin and the great great great daughter of Melvina Shields McGruder and Charles Shields Jr. They say I look like one of my grandmothers and want to fin more pictures and the locations of the plantations Melvina worked on as a child and teenager. I am truly related if you look online for some of the photos with my mixed family, you will see my uncle (my father's youngest brother) in the back row with light skin. If you research him i can let you the truth of my origins. I would really like your help finding out more about Melvina's other children and photos if possible. Please email me or type in Seila Melissa Grinner on Facebook and shot me a message....thank you!
